With big-money blockbusters like Sivaji: The Boss, Robot and Aparichit under his belt, screenwriter-producer-director Shankar has proved to the filming fraternity that when he does something, he does it big, and in style. So when his third venture, coyly titled ‘I’ (also known as Ai) generated a buzz, the expectations were bursting at the seams for Shankar to deliver another showstopper. His herculean effort provided just that; a film that showcases a director at his adventurous best. Here are five reasons why ‘I’ could be the next thing to blow your mind -

1)      Breathtaking Cinematography

Multiple award-winning cinematographer PC Sreeram took immense efforts in carefully choosing only the most spectacular of locations. The film has been shot in Jaipur, Kodaikanal, Pollachi, Chennai, Mysore, Bengaluru and also in China’s Hunan Province as well as Bangkok.

2)      Vikram’s superhuman effort

The sheer professionalism, physical endurance and dedication of the film’s lead actor Vikram, is no less than astonishing. From dubbing the film into three languages simultaneously to maintaining a body weight between 45-110 kilograms for his multiple characters, Vikram pushed every single limit and boundary to deliver a truly unforgettable performance.

3)      Dynamic Dimension

The makers of ‘I’ have left no-stone-unturned in ensuring an adrenaline-pumping experience. Gravity-defying feats, hyper-real action sequences and larger-than-life song choreography; you just can’t afford to take your eyes off the awe-inspiring action.

4)      Exquisite Finishing Touches  

The attention-to-detail given to every character’s appearance makes the film all the more impressive. New Zealand’s Weta Workshop have provided fantastic VFX, background arts as the special make-up in the film. Weta Workshop comprises seasoned veterans in the Special Effects business, and have weaved their magic in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and The Hobbit, and James Cameron’s Avatar.

5)       Instant Impact

The film smashed quite a lot of records in a bid to etch its name into the record books. ‘I’ became the fastest film to have its teaser hit one million views (12 hours.) The three versions of the film also grossed Rs. 200 Crores in just 19 days. Talk about an ‘I’ opening impact!
